Off the Clock

Our other passion is Living.

A window into our lives when when we’re ‘Off The Clock’

Change Camino is a grassroots community initiative being incubated by Michael to foster a natural overlap between his ethic of leadership and what he loves doing: hiking and being connected to nature.  The walks use the canvas of nature, connection and mentorship to encourage better living.

The walks are open to all, and are aimed at connecting with ourselves and our own nature in the more perfect environment of nature.

The walks aim to bridge a way to blend our busy professional lives, the demands of our relationships, and our own journeys of wellness – by walking this path together in nature.

What's been happening

we are what we do.

Off The Clock Trip Report: Main Range Kosciuszko NP via Guthega Power Station August 2023

Who: Michael Chant (changepm), Angus Chant, Alan Edler (Acor), Tom Edler

Prelim move and RV in Canberra for a trip and a very wet and snowy overnight in Jindabyne at Sport and Rec centre.

The 4 of us set off on an early and snowy Saturday am for an exhilarating off-the-clock weekend adventure navigating and experiencing the Main Range at Mt Kosciuszko via Schlink Pass, Dicky Cooper Bogong, the Rolling Grounds and Granite Tors.

Day 1 – an icy and nail biting drive through to Guthega Power Station where one car had slid off the road and ice chains had to be installed.  We headed straight up Schlink Pass track through to Schlink Pass and for a camp set up at the Schlink Hilton.

Very busy night at the hut, where we enjoyed a campfire, good company and another incredible alpine starry night sky.

Day 2 – we decided to navigate from Schlink Hilton via Dicky Cooper Bogong (navigating in alpine conditions can be tough!), the Rolling Grounds and Granite Tors, pushing through to Whites River Hut where we set up camp and dried ourselves out.   The trail was challenging, but the weather conditions were nearly perfect – absolute bluebird day on the range!

Highlights of our off-the-clock adventure included the pristine alpine scenery, the sense of accomplishment in conquering the summit, and the bonding experience.

Returning to the work week with renewed energy and motivation, ready to tackle new challenges.  changepm highly recommends off-the-clock adventures for people and teams seeking to unforgettable memories outside of the workplace with amazing people.

Please reach out if you’d like to join us on our next Camino.

Off The Clock Trip Report: Kosciuszko via Hannel Spur March 2023

Who: Michael Chant (changepm), Angus Chant, Alan Edler (Acor), Tom Edler, Grant Traub (Oceana Property Partners)

Our first move was for our various parts (coming from Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne) to meet at Geehi Flat on the night prior to our trip for a campfire and good meal.

The 5 of us were set for an exhilarating extended long weekend off-the-clock adventure to climb Mt Kosciuszko; the highest peak in Australia; via a challenging and scenic alternative route in Hannel Spur – Australia’s highest vertical ascent.

Day 1 – we set off from Geehi Flats straight into a small creek crossing, and almost immediately starting our long march upwards. The trail took us through picturesque alpine meadows, across clear streams, and up some very steep sections to Moiras Flat where we set up camp, enjoyed a campfire, and an incredible alpine starry night sky.

Day 2 – we pushed ourselves to summit Mt Kosciuszko. The trail was challenging, with rocky terrain and changing weather conditions, but we pushed through. We reached the summit and were rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the Snowy Mountains and pushed through to Seaman’s Hut that night to set up camp and enjoyed our last night in the mountains.

Highlights of our off-the-clock adventure included the pristine alpine scenery, the sense of accomplishment in conquering the summit, and the bonding experience.

Returning to work with renewed energy and motivation, ready to tackle new challenges.  changepm highly recommends off-the-clock adventures for people and teams seeking to renew your energy and to create unforgettable memories outside of the workplace with amazing humans.
